Short bio: Prof. Ostgaard is the Leader of Birkeland Centre for Space Science (BCSS - A Centre of Excellence), Department of Physics and Technology, University of Bergen, Norway. Research topics of the Birkeland Centre, such as hemispheric asymmetries and atmospheric particle precipitation, are closely aligned with the CGS research goals of developing a wholistic understanding of stormtime geospace. Birkeland Centre scientists are collaborating with the CGS team on multiple research projects, including their joint participation in the NASA EZIE mission, and are active users of and contributors to the MAGE model developed by the CGS team.
