German Farinas Perez

German Farinas Perez is a first year PhD student in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program at VirginiaTech and is a team member of the SuperDarn group. He graduated as an Electrical and Telecommunication Engineer and has a master’s degree in Space Geophysics. He has experience working with ionosondes and High Frequency radars. He also has experience with global MHD simulations of Flux Transfer Events (FTE) at the magnetopause and analyzing data from the Van Allen Probes, specifically the RBSPICE instrument. His current interests include Coherent and Incoherent Scattering Radars, radio sounding of the ionosphere, implementation of Software Radio techniques in the SuperDarn radars and plasma physics.
