Anke Kamrath

Subject Matter Expertise: High-performance computing
Advisory Role: Supercomputing, resource allocation, software sustainability
Short Bio: Anke was named Associate Director of NCAR and Director of NCAR's Computational and Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) in June 2017. She joined CISL in July 2009 as director of its former Operations and Services Division and was named Interim Director in November 2016. Before coming to NCAR she worked for 22 years at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California, San Diego, in a variety of leadership positions. She has more than 30 years’ experience in supporting, operating, deploying, and managing world-class supercomputing resources. Earlier, Anke worked as a rocket scientist at the Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, California. She holds a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley.
